swing-types

Three signatures. One diagnostic.

Every golfer's body loads and delivers power a little differently. These three patterns aren't rigid boxes — they're a spectrum — but almost every swing leans toward one of them.

The Artist swing type Center Post · Mid Core
The Artist

A balanced, one-piece takeaway — shoulders and arms moving together. The most commonly taught pattern, and the rarest to find naturally.

GRIP
Neutral / "tour neutral" — thumb slightly right of center on the grip.
BALANCE
Even and centered — roughly 65–75% trail-leg pressure at the top, no extreme shift either way.
STANCE
Balanced mix of knee bend and forward bend; close to square at address.
GROUND FORCE
Straightforward rotation — no dramatic shift or vertical push, just a clean turn.
The Bomber swing type Rear Post · Low Core
The Bomber

Loads into the trail side with an upright, hands-driven takeaway. Power comes from a forward glide into rotation.

GRIP
Stronger, more rotated — hands turned further to the right on the club.
BALANCE
Weight favors the trail foot and heel — roughly 60/40 at address, up to 85% trail-side at the top.
STANCE
Upright posture, less knee bend, often a bit more closed with trail-foot flare.
GROUND FORCE
A forward glide/shift toward the target blended with rotation — access to all three ground-force sources.
The Compressor swing type Front Post · Upper Core
The Compressor

Hips turn first and pull the rest of the swing with them, with a bigger knee kick and a vertical, ground-up power source.

GRIP
Trail hand sits more "on top" of the grip; shaft runs more vertical in the takeaway.
BALANCE
Weight toward the balls of the feet, forward-leaning — closer to 40/60 favoring the lead side.
STANCE
More forward bend from the waist, ball played a touch further forward, visible knee kick toward the target.
GROUND FORCE
A vertical, leg-driven "jumping" push — power recruited up through the ground, not just rotated.

Not sure which one you are?

The 2-minute diagnostic reads your grip, your miss, and how you move — then tells you which type fits, and which training aids to start with.
